Song Story

Besides seeing God’s face, I believe there is nothing more wonderful than hearing God speak to me. “‘The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17, NKJV). In His passion for us, “the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic” (Psalm 29:3-4). Even His discipline is wonderful—because it's His voice!

It is important that we expect to hear the voice of the Lord singing back to us as we worship. Our worship is incomplete if it consists of merely "one way" communication. So this song has been birthed out of my desire to really meet with and know Jesus. It is inspired by the Bible's command, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8, NASB).
